PAT Testing is the term now generally recognised as a method of checking the electrical integrity (Safety) of an appliance. It should actually be pronounced PA Testing or PAT. We test to the standards set out in the IEE Code of Practice for In - service Inspection of Electrical equipment (3rd Edition). Qualified to City & Guilds 2377.
If you are unsure whether you need to test your electrical equipment please call us for FREE advice under no obligation.
How Long Does it Take?
A qualified portable appliance test technician should take approximately 1 hour to complete between 15 - 20 items in an office environment where items are located within close proximity with each other. This will not include any repairs which may be encountered.
110 volt items (Power Tools) etc generally take longer but a competent technician should test approximately 10 items per hour. This puts a question mark over some companies who charge pennies per item for quantities of less than say 500. Check and request confirmation that their insurance liabilities match your criteria (usually a third party liability of 2 million pounds) and also read their small print to make sure that you are not charged a daily rate or charged for replacement plugs etc.
We provide :
FREE Plug/fuse replacements where necessary.
FREE Microwave Leakage tests as part of the PAT Test.
We DO NOT Charge a Daily rate just a £45 min order which is sometimes lowered for just 1 or 2 items.
Pricing.
Most PAT companies have pricing systems based on scales between :
1 - 150 items 151 - 250 items. 251 - 500 items. 501 - 1000 items. 1000 items +
Generally the more items to be tested the cheaper the price per item.
WORKSAFEPAT constantly monitor the market to bring you an affordable, professional service that you can rely upon. Our Customers requirements range from one who only requires two items per annum to be tested and another Customer who entrusts us to test thousands of items per annum located within harsh industrial environments on a 3 monthly basis.
